Qualitech Environmental Services sponsored the logistics involved in an epic 800-mile cycle challenge by three Tactical Flight Officers from the National Police Air Service North West region. The challenge raised over £10,000 for colleague PC Gareth James, who is battling stage four colorectal cancer. The cyclists rode from NPAS Newcastle to NPAS St Athan, calling in at every NPAS base across England and Wales along the way. Qualitech is proud to have supported this important challenge and wishes Gareth all the best in his ongoing battle with cancer.
Three Tactical Flight Officers from the National Police Air Service North West region have completed an epic 800-mile Base 2 Base cycle challenge to raise urgent funds for NPAS and Cheshire Constabulary colleague PC Gareth James.
PC Phil Perkins (Greater Manchester Police), PC Mike Dutton (Merseyside Police) and PC Anna Reid (Cheshire Constabulary), all seconded to NPAS's Barton base, embarked on the challenging nine-day bike ride, calling in at every NPAS base across England and Wales.
Accompanied by Merseyside police officer Liam Phillips, in the support vehicle, they raised over £10,000 for Gareth's cancer treatment.
Gareth was working as a Tactical Flight Officer at NPAS Hawarden when he was diagnosed with stage four colorectal cancer. Despite a dire prognosis, Gareth has beaten the odds so far and the cancer is stable.
But to have any hope of a cure, Gareth is forced to look abroad to obtain the necessary medical intervention. With insufficient resources available through the NHS, he is raising the vital funds himself.
Qualitech Environmental Services was proud to sponsor the logistics involved in the Base 2 Base challenge. The surplus from our sponsorship has now been credited to the donations pot and our companies name displayed alongside each donation.
