Storage Capacity

Our purpose-built 1-acre hazardous waste transfer station at Sandycroft, Deeside NW features state-of-the-art CCTV (including thermal imaging) and containment-wall concrete surfacing for full spill control. The facility offers:

• Capacity for up to 816 waste pallets

• Approximately 60 tonnes of liquid storage via tanker units

• Dedicated bulk storage tanks capable of holding up to 5,900 tonnes of liquid capacity

All storage areas are bunded and enclosed where required. Our fully trained staff operate under strict regulatory compliance and carry out regular audits to ensure safety and environmental protection.

A hazardous waste transfer station is a specialised facility designed to receive, store and transfer hazardous waste from smaller containers, such as drums and tanks, into larger bulk transport vehicles for onward treatment or disposal. These facilities are highly regulated to ensure safe handling, compliant storage and secure transport, reducing the risk of environmental contamination or harm to public health.

The Sandycroft site is fully concreted and protected with a containment wall to prevent spills from reaching surrounding soil or watercourses. It is equipped with specialised pumps, hoses and containment systems to safely transfer hazardous materials from smaller containers into bulk tankers.

The site also includes under-cover storage areas where hazardous waste can be held temporarily before transfer to treatment or disposal facilities.

All our employees receive specialist training to ensure full awareness of the hazards associated with the materials they handle and the procedures required to minimise exposure risks and prevent contamination.

The facility is subject to regular inspections and audits to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practice.
